Have you tried silicone baking gloves?

Silicone kitchen utensils are the new ‘big thing’. I have gotten rid of so many of my old kitchen utensils in favor of new, silicone ones. I got a set of my own awhile back, but I got a set to give my mom for christmas, and she absolutely loves them!

silicone-gloves-2Silicone baking gloves are so much better than traditional cloth hot pads, but especially in my mom’s case! She’s legally blind, with very little peripheral vision, so occasionally something small, like a hotbed slipping into the oven while she’s getting something out, can happen without her noticing. Until the hot pad catches on fire. Then it becomes a bit more of a problem. The silicone gloves not only protect her hands, and help to prevent fires in her kitchen, but the bright red color of these gloves makes them really easy to see.

I love that the silicone gloves don’t have to be tossed into the washer and dryer to clean, you can just wash them with soap and water, no matter what you get on them, and they’re good to go! This honestly helps me to keep them cleaner than I did traditional hot pads..and we all know that they occasionally dip into the pan when you’re getting something out of the oven. It’s unavoidable.

These gloves are heat resistant for up to 425 degrees fahrenheit, and dishwasher, microwave, and freezer safe. You can get yours here: Oven Mitts Gloves, Heat Resistant Silicone BBQ Grilling Gloves, for Cooking, Baking, Barbecue, Smoking & Potholdersilicone-gloves-1

Easy-open, Easy-close Umbrellas from Crown Coast – Product Review

Okay friends, it’s time to start showing off some of the awesome gifts that my family and I received for christmas. They’re simply too good to keep to myself – especially this adorable umbrella that I gave my daughter that opens AND closes at the touch of a button!

IMG_5051At just under 11 inches when folded, this umbrella is ultra-portable, and so easy to use that I don’t have to worry about my daughter having trouble getting it open and closed on her own, even when she’s at school without me to help her. A bit of a safety lesson had to come first, along with some practice, but soon my 8-year old was ready to go!

So far, we’ve only gotten to use this umbrella in the snow, but now we have a reason to look forward to the next strange winter snowstorm that we get! With a 39-inch canopy that’s windproof and guaranteed to spring back even if it does flip inside-out in a storm, we’re ready for anything! šŸ˜€

Crown Coast is having a pretty sweet sale on Amazon right now, you can get this umbrella for only $18.95, which is 58% off of the regular price of the umbrella. We got the pink one, but you have to check out the ‘sky blue’ option. It’s absolutely beautiful! I Graduated!

I’m Back, I’m back!

After a short hiatus from blogging, I’m back with a vengeance!

I took a break to finish my last quarter of college with fewer distractions…I guess it helped, because I’m finally a college graduate! I’m so proud!

I have a degree in graphic design from SCC in Lincoln, Nebraska. I was able to participate in a very difficult, yet amazing program that helped me to grow not only as a designer, but as a person as well!

I’m still in the middle of reworking my website, but as soon as it’s finished, I’ll be posting links to all of my design work, so get excited! Also keep an eye out for a ton of great product reviews coming up – we got a lot of wonderful gifts for christmas that I can’t wait to tell you about!

As Always,

Stay Beautiful & Think Divergently
