Take the Bow-W’ouch’ out of clipping your pet’s toenails!

Hi again! Today I want to talk about an activity that makes both my dog and I anxious – toenail clipping! From getting the dog calmed down enough to let me mess with her feet, to making sure that I don’t cut down too far and end up with a bloody mess and an upset dog, there’s a lot to think about!

Bully Sticks – Product Review

I have the cutest furbaby! Her name is Yoshi, and she’s a 7-month old pitbull sweetheart. She is absolutely in love with our four kids, and loves to cuddle above anything in the world! Unfortunately, she is still a puppy, and has a tendency to get into the trash or tear toys up when I’m in class and my boyfriend is at work in the mornings, so we have to put her in her kennel. At first, it was a disaster!

Majestic Bombay Dog Dental Tools

So…scraping my dog’s teeth is something that I had never done before I was given the opportunity from Majestic Bombay to try these! Unfortunately…the day that I received this in the mail was the last day I saw my dog…My beloved Tank ate something he shouldn’t have, got sick, and couldn’t be saved :(. It was a horrible day. So…I drove over to my mom’s house and gave these to her…she has a guide dog, so he is a very well-groomed dog, as he is allowed to go everywhere with my mom. My dad helped her clean ‘Linus’s’ teeth, and was pretty surprised at how easy it was to scrape the tarter off of his teeth with these! (He is such a good boy..I’m told he just laid there.)

My parents will NOT send their dogs to the vet to have their teeth cleaned, because they put them under anesthesia to do so, and years ago, they had a friend whose dog died during a teeth cleaning. Scary stuff! SOOO much easier to clean your dog’s teeth at home, as long as they will cooperate!

These tools are SUPER HIGH QUALITY!

I recommend this to ANYONE with a dog. The mirror helps you see what you’re doing, just like a real dentist :D….why wouldn’t you want to give them a try?  ESPECIALLY considering that they’re only $6.99 for a set. Buy them HERE on Amazon!

Magnetic Screen Door from IGotTech–Product Review!

I was recently given a magnetic screen door to try for free!

I had it for almost a week before I opened the bag and took out the contents. The package contained the screen, a roll of velcro, and tacks. To be honest, I was a bit overwhelmed at first and didn’t think that I could do it on my own, especially with the kids running around, so I put it back into the package and set it aside until I could get someone to come help me with it.

A few days later, I was in the process of cleaning, and decided to take a stab at installing my screen door. It was a beautiful day, and I really wanted to let the breeze blow through the whole house. I re-read the directions, and decided that installation sounded pretty easy. I got a washcloth, and washed the doorframe with soap and water. While that dried, I put the velcro onto the door, then got out a stepstool and installed it onto the door frame. I think that the whole process took me less than 20 minutes!

My 3-year-old was very excited to be the first one to try it out. She walked out, watched the magnets close the screen, and giggled with delight. Then she tried it again, and again! She’s the best when it comes to product testing. The door looks great, and works really well, too.

I have pets, too…an inside cat, and a very large dog. The dog hasn’t decided to let himself out yet, which is good, because my yard is only 3/4 fenced. The cat, on the other hand, formulated her escape plan immediately. I don’t really think that it’s an issue, though. When I’m not around, I just shut the main door so that I don’t have to worry about escapees.

The only other issue that I’ve had is that my back door is partially made of metal, so when I walk inside, the magnets tend to get stuck to the door, instead of closing the screen for me. Still not a huge issue, because a quick nudge with my toe slides the magnets off the door and they fall into place.

I love this magnetic screen door! I rate it 10 out of 10, and would happily recommend this to anyone, whether you have a ‘normal’ screen door already or not! It looks nice, and works very well!

REAL graphic design work!

Today I was approached by the woman who runs the Sadie Dog Fund (See my previous posts about the pooch smooch challenge and my dog, Tank).  Pam wants me to design posters for an upcoming event where they’ll be having a pooch smooch challenge! Yay!  I have to admit, it was very exciting to get a phone cal from her, and have to dig out my ‘design notebook’ so that I could take notes about the new project while on the phone! I felt..Real. Professional. I’m not getting paid for this gig…Instead I am happy to donate my time, energy, and expertise to a wonderful cause!  In case you don’t know about the Sadie Dog fund, is the place to go to learn more or to donate! I can’t wait to get started on my newest design project! I LOVE applying my design skills to real-world applications, instead of just made-up assignments for my instructors!

Make sure to follow me on my design journey, i’ll be posting my progress and asking for critique, so If you know a bit about design, I NEED YOU!

Pooch Smooch Challenge! We Need YOU!

We could really use your help getting Sadie Dog Fund’s POOCH SMOOCH CHALLENGE going.  Please make a video of your dog kissing you all over your face and post to social media.  Challenge your friends and family to do the same and donate at .  An example featuring Abby Turpin is posted on Sadie Dog Fund’s or my personal Face Book page.  This is a fun challenge for dog lovers!   If you don’t have a dog……borrow one! 😀

We are trying to increase awareness about how many people resort to ending their dog’s life prematurely or surrendering it to an already overcrowded shelter because they can’t cover medical costs for treatment.  We want people to know that Sadie Dog Fund is a 501c3 non-profit dedicated to “Saving Dog’s Lives & Keeping Them at Home” with their families.

We appreciate your support!

Give them love. Keep them safe.
Pam Hoffman

I’m doing this!  I think you should, too. Please? 😀
